First National Bank has signed a deal with Itec West for a printing solution that will save the financial institution between 15% and 20% per annum.

In terms of the three-year contract, FNB has leased 137 multifunctional devices from Itec West, replacing a total of 656 desktop printers that were being used by FNB Shared Services’ 3 700 employees. These employees are situated in seven buildings around Johannesburg and five buildings across the rest of the country.

First National Bank (FNB) Lesotho has reduced the costs and improved the performance of its printing environment following its appointment of Itec Lesotho as its document output solutions partner.

The bank appointed Itec as its partner for Lesotho because it offered a strong base of in-country skills and was able to offer a complete solution that included lease financing, servicing and maintenance of its fleet of print devices.

The First National Bank (FNB) human resources shared services centre is starting to see significant cost-savings in its print environment following its decision to appoint Itec Converge as its document output vendor and service provider three months ago.

The FNB business unit, which spends several hundred thousand rand a month on its document output bill, began several months ago to explore opportunities to reduce its printing costs. The department believed that it could achieve considerable cost-savings if it standardised and consolidated its printing environment.
