While network security gets the majority of resources, output device security is often ignored. While most companies focus on who and what gets into a company, many neglect to secure their output devices, says Holger Groenert, manager product marketing for Itec Distribution.
"It’s neglected in most companies, but especially in smaller and medium-sized companies," says Groenert. "Only organisations with sensitive information really pay attention."
He says companies protect their networks and systems from hackers, but "output devices [like printers, copiers and fax machines] are more or less the weakest area".
